Research Divisions
Forestry research in the Institute embraces nine broad areas, each of which is organized into a Programme Division. In turn, each Programme Division is composed of two or more Departments, being further specializations within the Division.
The nine Programme Divisions are:
- Sustainable Forest Management (SFM)
- Forest Genetics and Biotechnology (FGB)
- Forest Ecology and Biodiversity Conservation (FEBC)
- Wood Science and Technology WST)
- Forestry and Human Dimensions (FHD)
- Forest Health (FH)
- Forest Management Information System (FMIS)
- Extension and Training (ET)
- Library and Information (LI)
Each Programme Division is headed by a Programme Coordinator (PC) and each Department by a Head of the Department (HOD). The Departments have specialized laboratories attached to them and facilitating implementation of the various ongoing programmes in the subject area. A Research Monitoring and Evaluation Unit working directly under the Director assists in the time to time monitoring of the research programmes.
